Simply put, we passionately believe prayer changes things and this is at the heart of Love Wythenshawe.
We want to ensure every street of the neighbourhood is prayer walked over the next few months and you can get involved in this by downloading our new prayer app.
How can I get involved?
We’d love to see as many Christians from across the many churches of Wythenshawe, the local area, and partners out on the streets praying for the community, and that God’s glory and love will be known there.
So to help you get involved and make sure every part of the town is covered in prayer we’ve launched a brand-new prayer walking app. Using this you can let us know you want to be involved and which streets you’ll be heading to.
Once you’ve got the app, here’s what you need to do:
1. Use the Love Wythenshawe App to choose the streets you’d like to prayer walk.
2. Choose a time that suits you and head out to the streets you’ve selected, praying for every household and place of work/activity as you go, making sure you adhere to UK Government guidance on social distancing as you go.
3. Use the App to tell us when you’ve prayed for the streets.
4. Feel free to go again, with different streets, or covering the same streets a second time!
As we use the App collectively, we will be able to see how prayer for Wythenshawe is growing.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never prayer walked before. What is it?
There is nothing complicated about prayer walking. It is simply ‘prayer on the move’! Don’t be put off because you’ve not done it before. You’ll find it surprisingly easy!
Can I get involved, if my church isn’t involved?
Of course! We would still love to hear which church you are part of, which is information you can enter as you register for the App. If you are not currently part of a church, please be involved without using the App. If you need to find a church, contact us letting us know what type of church you are looking for and where you live, and we’ll try to help.
I’m not very good with technology, and I don’t think I’ll be able to use the App. What should I do?
We totally understand! Lots of people feel like this, or simply don’t have a smart phone or suitable device. That said, we would love to capture your praying! So, please try to find someone who does have a smart phone (or who is tech-savvy) and ask them to help you. It will be very simple for them. They will need to access the App while you are in contact with them, so they can enter your details and agree which streets you are planning to prayer-walk.
What if someone has earmarked my streets before me?
We understand some people will be excited about prayer walking the streets near where they live or work but may go onto the App to find someone has already ‘earmarked’ them, or already ‘prayed’ them. You have two choices:
1. Either prayer walk them anyway (although you won’t be able to register secondary coverage through the App).
2. Look for some different streets to prayer walk. We may well find that in order to prayer walk all of Wythenshawe many of us have to venture into areas we are not yet familiar with. We are sure the Lord will use us as we do that!
What do I do if I sense God speaking to me about the area I am prayer walking?
We would recommend that you make a note of what you are sensing. You may need to revisit that street or area and keep praying. Also, you can let your church leader know. If they recommend it, you can feed it back to us at Love Wythenshawe by emailing us
